A Little Bit About

You’ve decided to reach out to a therapist, but it’s tough to decide who to call. You’re not sure who will really get it and be able to help you. I understand, and I want to make it less overwhelming for you.

Who I Am:

Hi there, I’m Mandi! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a wife, mom, and nature lover. I’m originally from Salt Lake City, UT, spent the past four years living in Montana, and moved to Colorado to be closer to family in June of 2022.

I have a down to earth approach to life, and I bring that into therapy. What exactly does that mean? Basically, I show up as a real person. It’s not unusual for me to laugh, joke, and cry with my clients (sometimes all in the same session). I place a huge value on the therapeutic relationship I have with my clients, and always want them to feel heard, supported, and cared for. That being said, I know that no one wants to be in therapy forever, so I encourage my clients to dig in and work through the hard stuff. I don’t have a quick fix or band aid style approach to therapy. I want the people I work with to be able to heal the deeper causes of their struggles, so that they experience a deep and meaningful change in themselves, their relationships, and their lives as a whole.

I have experience working with people ages 3 to 65, in a variety of settings. Though I enjoy working with people of all ages, I have a passion for working with teens, overwhelmed moms, and couples. Common areas I support clients with include anxiety, depression, postpartum, LGBTQ+ issues, attachment, grief and loss, and life transitions.

How I work with my clients depends on their unique goals, strengths, and needs. I don’t have a cookie cutter approach, but instead I work closely with my clients to find the best fit for them. Some of the common therapy approaches I use include:

  • EMDR

  • Mindfulness

  • Brain Spotting

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Solution Focused Therapy

  • Creativity and Art

My Educational Background:

I received my bachelor’s in psychology from Utah Valley University in 2013. I earned my master’s in marriage and family therapy from Argosy university of Salt Lake City in 2016. I’ve received specialized training in treating trauma, anxiety, and couples counseling.
